At any rate, I think that you mean that it's the amount of energy required to
accelerate
one gram by one centemeter
per time unit (probably one second)
. Due to the basic nature of inertia, no energy whatsoever is required to move a gram a centemeter if it was already moving... in fact energy is required to stop it from moving.
